Realistic Paintings

In painting landscapes, I just love to paint outside at a spot in which I can see the confluence of hills and fields and the different textures of landscape. My favorite season for painting outside is between May and October. In nature there are many different marks and textures that are appealing to me. The light changes from morning to afternoon. These inconsistencies making it possible for me to work on two paintings a day as the sun moves through the sky.

I use oil paint on canvas or wood. Spring planting time leaves the hillsides partly earth colored, before the corn, soybean, sorghum, or alfalfa plants come up. I use photography to record changes in the view as a reference tool.
